An Exhibition of the Designs for the Parliamentary Centre Building
In the State Duma, an exhibition has opened showing three designs for the Parliamentary Centre in the Nizhnie Mnyovniki.The winning design for the parliamentary centre will be chosen by early July by a committee of the Directorate of the President of the Russian Federation by a secret voting.The finalists of the restricted architectural contest for the design of the new building of the State Duma and the Federation Council were identified a month ago. These are Michael Posokhin’s Mosproekt-2, Lanfranco Cirillo’s Stroygaskomlekt, and Evgeny Gerasimov and Partners bureau from Saint Petersburg. 11 companies participated in the contest, having submitted 16 designs for the Parliamentary Centre building to the contest panel.
According to preliminary plans, the area of the parliamentary centre will be 345,000 sq. meters (85 acres).
