The “U Rostralnykh Kolonn” (At the Rostral Columns) Complex has received the “White Book” approval sign
The World Wide Club of Petersburgers Round Table dedicated to urban aesthetics has awarded the «U Rostralnykh Kolonn» Hotel And Residential Complex the White Book approval sign confirming that the complex corresponds to the Saint Petersburg traditions of urban development, architecture, art, and beautification. Other residential complexes nominated for the sign were «Morskoy Kaskad» and «Morskoy Fasad».
In order to facilitate urban development, architectural, artistic, and beautification activities, the World Wide Club of Petersburgers has established a public system, both to evaluate the achievements in the area of tradition preservation and development in Saint Petersburg urban development, architecture, and beautification, and to provide for precautions against probable mistakes as well as for social condemnation in case of severe violations in urban development and architectural failures having occurred in the historical urban environment of Saint Petersburg in the recent years.
Recently built facilities that contradict to the spirit and traditions of Saint Petersburg, as well as severe violations, mistakes, and failures in the urban development, architectural and artistic, and beautification activities are inscribed into the Black Book, while achievements go into the White Book, and warnings on possible mistakes and insufficiently justified decisions belong into the Red Book.
The Black, Red, and White Books are updated annually. Published in the form of an illustrated periodical with a commentary, the Books are available to wide audience, government agencies, and the media.
The facilities inscribed into the White Book receive an honorary diploma and the Approval Sign in the form of a golden square with the number «122.5» on the front — the height of the Peter and Paul Fortress spire and a symbolic number of the Club.
